X3 (F25) and X4 (F26) can run either CAS4 or FEM/BDC depending on the individual car, which is exactly why we verify before quoting rather than after. We program additional keys and do All Keys Lost on both.

Before we quote

The same model year can use a different system.

BMW immobilizer systems overlap between generations. The same model year can use a different system depending on chassis and production date, so VIN and module verification determines what your vehicle actually has. We confirm this before quoting.

On price, BMW sits in the European tier: transponder keys start at $125 and smart or proximity keys at $145, with all keys lost from $145. Those are starting prices, not flat rates — the full price list has the rest, and we match written estimates.

Service is in person only — we do not offer mail-in key programming. Come to the shop at 737 Hamilton Rd Unit 2, London, or we'll come to the car.

Keys carry a 3-month warranty.

If your BMW's lights, windows or wipers have failed rather than its key, that's usually the footwell module — see BMW FRM repair. If you've lost every key to any make, the lost car keys page covers how that job works.

FAQ

BMW key questions, answered straight.

Which immobiliser system does my BMW use?

You don't need to know — tell us the model and year and we'll identify it. BMW immobilizer systems overlap between generations. The same model year can use a different system depending on chassis and production date, so VIN and module verification determines what your vehicle actually has. We confirm this before quoting.

Can you make a BMW key if I've lost every one?

On most of the range, yes. All Keys Lost is available on EWS, CAS and FEM/BDC F-Series cars. It is not available on G-Series BMWs, which are roughly 2018 onward — for those we can program an additional or spare key, but only if you still have a working one. If you've lost every key to a G-Series, a dealer is the right call.

Can I mail you my key or my module?

No. Service is in person only — we do not offer mail-in key programming. You can come to the shop at 737 Hamilton Rd Unit 2, London, or we can come to the car.

Is there a warranty on a BMW key?

Yes. Keys carry a 3-month warranty.

How much does a BMW key cost?

BMW sits in the European tier: transponder keys start at $125 and smart or proximity keys at $145, with all keys lost from $145. Those are starting prices, not flat rates — we confirm the immobiliser system from the VIN before quoting, and we match written estimates.

Need a BMW key?

Tell us the model and year. We'll identify the system and confirm what your car needs before quoting.
