What we replace
Remotes, flip keys, and push-to-start fobs.
"Key fob" covers a few different things, and which one you have decides the price. A remote head key is a cut metal blade with the lock and unlock buttons built into the plastic head, or a flip key that folds into the fob body. A smart or proximity fob is the push-to-start kind — no blade in the ignition, the car recognises the fob in your pocket.
Both have to be paired to the vehicle before they'll do anything. An unprogrammed fob will not open your car and will not start it, whatever it cost.

Before you buy one
Sometimes the fob is fine.
A car that won't respond to the fob has a short list of possible causes, and a broken fob is only one of them. A weak or flat battery in the vehicle produces identical symptoms — doors won't unlock, nothing happens at the button — and so does a flat coin cell inside the fob. Neither needs a new fob.

How much is a replacement key fob in London, Ontario?
A remote head key starts at $95 and a smart or proximity fob — the push-to-start kind — starts at $145. Those are starting prices, not flat rates, because the fob your car takes decides the cost. We match written estimates.
My fob stopped working. Do I definitely need a new one?
Not necessarily, and it's worth ruling out the cheap explanations first. A flat battery in the car will stop a fob being recognised, and so will a flat battery inside the fob itself. Both look exactly like a dead fob from the driver's seat. Tell us the symptoms before you buy anything.
Can you program a push-to-start proximity fob?
Yes. Proximity fobs carry the most electronics and need the most programming, which is why they're the most expensive type to replace, but they're routine work for us. We're NASTF-registered, so we can pull the immobiliser data these vehicles require.
Do you install or repair remote starters?
No. Remote starters are aftermarket add-ons, and we don't install or repair them. What we do is the key side: fobs, remotes, and smart keys — replaced, programmed, and tested at your car.
Do you come to me, or do I come to you?
