What it costs
Replacement car key prices, starting from $45.
Car key pricing has a bad reputation, mostly because nobody publishes any. Here is where ours starts. These are starting prices, not flat rates — what you pay depends on your vehicle and the key it takes, which is why we ask for the year, make and model first.
| Type of key | From |
|---|---|
| Laser cut key | $45 |
| Transponder key | $75 |
| Remote head key | $95 |
| German / Euro transponder key | $125 |
| Smart / proximity key | $145 |
| All keys lost — varies by vehicle, contact for exact quote | $145 |

Which key does your car take?
Four kinds of car key, four different prices.
You don't need to know which one you have — tell us the year, make and model and we'll work it out.
-
Laser cut key
A metal key with a wavy groove milled down the centre of the blade rather than teeth along the edge. Cutting it takes a laser machine, which is why it costs more than an old-fashioned key.
-
Transponder key
Looks like an ordinary metal key, but there's a chip in the plastic head. Cutting alone isn't enough — a hardware-store copy will open the door and then do nothing, because the chip also has to be programmed to the car.
-
Remote head key
A transponder key with the buttons built into the head, or a flip key that folds into the fob. Both the blade and the remote have to be programmed.
-
Smart / proximity key
The push-to-start type: the fob stays in your pocket and the car starts when it's nearby. Most electronics, most programming, highest price to replace.
All keys lost
No key at all? That's still a job we do.
Losing every key is the situation people assume means a tow and a dealership appointment. It usually doesn't. We cut and program a brand-new key from scratch with nothing to copy from — the car stays where it is, and you keep the tow bill.
We're a NASTF-Registered Vehicle Security Professional — the automaker-backed registry that lets qualified locksmiths pull key codes and immobilizer data straight from the manufacturer, the same way a dealership does. That's what makes all-keys-lost possible on modern push-to-start vehicles.
All-keys-lost starts at $145 and varies by vehicle, contact for exact quote. There's more detail on that job — what happens, and what to have ready — on the lost car keys page.

"Exceptional service. Quick, affordable and convenient. Lost my car keys. Toyota gave me an appointment for a week later, Oscar came the very next day and made two keys for me for even lesser price than what Toyota was charging for one. Highly recommended."

"Great service! The technician made me a car key from scratch and programmed it quickly. Very professional and efficient. I'm happy with the overall experience and would definitely recommend them, affordable and they will come to your house to do it for you."

Car key replacement questions, answered straight.
How much is a replacement car key in London, Ontario?
It starts at $45 for a laser cut key and $75 for a transponder key, and rises from there depending on the key your vehicle takes — a smart or proximity key starts at $145. Those are starting prices, not flat rates. Send us your year, make and model for an exact number, and if you already have a written estimate, we match estimates.
I lost every key. Can you still make one?
Yes. We cut and program a brand-new key from scratch with no working key to copy from, so there's no need to tow your car to a dealer. All-keys-lost starts at $145 and varies by vehicle, contact for exact quote.
Do you come to me, or do I come to you?
Either. We're mobile across London and Southwestern Ontario, so we come to your driveway, your workplace, or the parking lot you're stuck in. You can also come to our shop at 737 Hamilton Rd Unit 2, London.
Can you come out on a Sunday or after hours?
No. We're open Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed Sundays. We don't do after-hours callouts — if you're stuck on a Sunday evening, the honest answer is that we'll see you Monday.
Is there a warranty on a replacement key?
Yes. Keys carry a 3-month warranty. Module repairs — such as BMW/MINI FRM and Mercedes EIS/EZS and ESL/ELV work — carry a 6-month warranty.
